This test, referred commonly as SBI, is the main test for fire reaction. It simulates the risk of flashover:

• The specimen is exposed to a diffusive 30kW flame
• Its performance is evaluated during 20 minutes
• The heat release, the production of smoke, the smoke and heat growth rate, the flame spread, the occurrence of burning particles and droplets are measured

It is designed to simulate the effect of a burning trash can in a room’s corner
